Obverse 3 is identified by date placement at C and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the north above the base and top of the 1, as well as to the north on all elements of the 8.

Reverse D has developed the following die cracks:
1. Die crack from the denticles at 2:30 into the wreath, where it intersects a die crack extending south to north.
2. Die crack from the denticles at 8:00 into the olive leaves.
3. Light die crack from the denticles at 10:30 into the left wreath.
Rev. D.2: Die crack #3, which is now moderately heavy, now extends downward through the left wreath and exits into the rim at 9:00. This die crack splits into two separate die cracks at 9:45 within the wreath.
Rev. D.3: Both die cracks from the Reverse D.2 Die State are now more severe and a new die crack has split from the Reverse D.2 die crack and extends upward into the rim at 10:15.
Rev. D.4: A moderately sized die break has now formed from the denticles at 10:30 to the wreath.

Comments: Obverse 3 will later be paired with Reverse C during the Variety 1 Die Pairing . The most likely reason for the revese change over is the severeness of the die cracking from 9:00 to 10:30, which may develop a break during a subsequent Reverse D Die State.
