Comments:
The Reverse AAN primary die crack between 3:15 and 4:15
represents the primary die crack of Reverse AAN. Based on the
severity of this die crack and the presence of a bi-level field area
within the area defined by the die crack, I suspect that Reverse AAN
will develop a break between 3:15 and 4:15 during a subsequent die
state.
Obverse 66 features the more advanced die state compared to Reverse
AAN, which indicates Obverse 66 was in service prior to the Variety 64
Die Pairing.
Variety 64 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the
above
plate coin during late June 2024 for inclusion in this book based on
the die cracking of Reverse AAN.
