Reverse AO Die Crack Mapping

Partial Cud (Click Image To Enlarge)

Obverse 41 is observed with date placement at RE.  Obverse 41 has developed the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack from the denticles at 7:00 extends upward into the bust point.
2.  Die crack from the denticles at 8:45 extends downward and connects the tops of 'UN(IT)ED'.

Reverse AO, which was struck from misaligned working dies, has developed a partial cud between 9:45 and 11:15 and the following die cracks:
1.  Light die crack from the denticles at 3:45 extends along the bottom edge of the middle arrowhead.
2.  Die crack from the rim at 5:00 extends upward through the wreath stem and ribbon knot.
3.  Die crack from the denticles at 9:00 extends upward into the left wreath.
4.  Light die crack from the rim at 11:15 extends into the upper left side of the shield.

Comments:  Based on the severity of the die cracking between 9:45 and 11:15, I expect a subsequent Reverse AO die state to yield a break in this area.

Variety 39 was first identified by Mark Plummer, who submitted the former Variety 39 Plate Coin during late November 2018 for inclusion in this book based on the Reverse AO partial cud.

During early July 2022, David Killough submitted a mint state example of Variety 39.  Since David's example is a higher grade compared to the former VF30 example and afforded the opportunity to generate die crack mappings of both Obverse 41 and Reverse AO, I have elected to utilize David's example as the Variety 39 Plate Coin.
